CAD Work

Blender rendering of the CAD model.

Before starting the latest plane I made a full CAD model in FreeCAD of the plane. This provides a good way to sanity check all the fits, make sure the proportions look right, and is just fun.

This time around I went a step further after I learned that Claude can run Blender heedlessly. I know only basically nothing about texturing and lighting in Blender, but was able to get fantastic results by describing what I wanted and having Claude take care of it for me. That made it trivial to create cross-section and exploded versions so you can really see what is going on inside one of these planes.

But, it's time to get out from behind the computer and start actually building this thing.
